Government Company
A departmental undertaking is an undertaking which disorganized an operated as one of the departments of the government. It is fully owned and managed by the government. The department works under a high level officer who is given necessary executive powders. Posts and Telegraphs is an example of a departmental undertaking. Railways, telephone services, broadcasting and defense undertakings are other examples of departmental undertakings.

Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Machines Tools (HMT) Limited and Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) are well-known Government Companies in India.
